God is Never Against You

Introduction

Have you ever received a word from someone that brings your sins to remembrance or instills an expectation of punishment for sins in your life? If you have or do in the future, do not fear, as there is no condemnation in Jesus. When you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, the debt that you owed is paid for and you will not face condemnation.

Here is another thing, do not allow anyone to tell you something negative has happened or will happen to you because of your sins and that it is a punishment from God. Reject such bad news in the name of Jesus. Remember, no condemnation in Jesus!

If you have your Bible with you, turn to Romans 8:31-32, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Receive the Good News!

What we need to do instead of receiving all the bad news and condemnation, let us start receiving the Good News of Jesus. When you face difficult circumstances, keep believing in the love that He demonstrated on the cross for you. He will cause whatever the devil meant for evil to be turned around for good and for His glory!

One time a pastor said that he had a disturbing situation happen in his church when a young couple lost their baby due to some complications and a so-called “prophet” in his congregation told them they lost the baby because of sin in their lives. That is not what God’s word tells us. The couple was grieving. Instead of being a source of encouragement and edification, this “prophet” took advantage of the situation to appear prophetic at the expense of God’s precious people.

No Punishment

We may not have all the answers, but we can have full assurance that the negative circumstances we experience are not the works of God, nor are they punishments for our sins. When we have this confidence that God is for us and not against us, we can believe in restoration, breakthroughs, and good things to happen to us.

The pastor continued his story. The church leaders told this young couple that it was not the Lord punishing them for their sins. They reminded them all their sins have been punished at the cross of Jesus. It helped them to remove the guilt and condemnation that they were carrying in their hearts. Since then, the pastor delivered the good news that the Lord blessed them with a beautiful baby.

Receive Restoration

Many other pastors, such as I, have received testimonies from others who received God’s restoration in their lives. I noticed that everyone had one thing in common. After they heard the Good News of the Gospel of Grace, it liberated them from all guilt and condemnation. Instead of believing that God was against them or punishing them, they started believing He is for them. They started trusting aggressively in His grace and goodness, and without fail, restoration always came. Now, that is God working in their lives!

When He restores, His restoration always leaves us in a greater place. Think about this, if everyone continued to believe erroneously that God was punishing them because of their sins, they would never be able to muster the courage and trust God for restoration.

Conclusion

Beloved, to reign in life it’s important you believe with all your heart that God is for you and not against you. His truth, His righteousness, His gospel, His salvation, His Word, and His Spirit declare that Jesus took the punishment on the cross for your sins. God is on your side, and if is for you, who can be against you? Amen!
