Truth, Not Tradition!
My wife came up with this statement because we’ve been to different churches and denominations. We heard doctrines from different denominations and some non-denominations. Heard good pastors on fire and was not afraid to bring the truth at all costs. We also heard some pastors that preach nothing but confusion. What a shame to lead others down the wrong path.
We need to properly evangelize and make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). The Bible is the best tool but must be used properly, and the REAL TRUTH will be exposed. God’s people will prosper over the truth and faith comes from hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17).
In our world, Christ is somewhat non-existent. Look at our homes, neighborhoods, communities, and governments today. Church attendance is dwindling at an alarming rate. Satan has a tight stronghold on people and leads them into destruction spiritually. In any era, we are one generation away from Christianity becoming non-existent.
Talking one evening with my wife the Lord spoke to both of us about starting an online ministry. We prayed about it and when I graduated with my bachelor’s, we thought it was time. God had different plans to take a break and get prepared to start my Master’s program at Oral Roberts University. After writing my first paper in my Master’s program, it was suggested to start a blog. We did one better and started our online ministry.
My wife and I are very passionate and have a calling from God to bring the real truth of the gospel, evangelize, and make disciples. We hope that this site will be a blessing and that you feel God’s presence as you read the contents of our site.
Let me introduce myself:
My name is Dale Van De Bogart, Senior Pastor/Minister and co-founder of Van De Bogart Ministries located in Bunnlevel, North Carolina, USA. I work full-time in the private sector and preach God’s Word. As God continues to prosper us, then I can pursue becoming a full-time pastor.
I grew up in a very ungodly family and environment, known as the “anti-Christian” family. My father was Catholic but did not believe God ever existed. My mom was Mormon, the stereotyped 1960s housewife, and a closet alcoholic. I needed to overcome two issues that plagued my life. First, is my speech impediment, which I did after a few years of school-paid speech therapy. Second, my extreme anger fits that only Jesus healed. The good news, both my parents accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and have since gone to be with Jesus. I am a firm believer that if Jesus can save my ungodly parents and me, He can save anyone!
My anger rage started by my grandfather as he attempted to beat the speech impediment out of me. It only fed my anger. When I threw an angry fit, I would either punch or throw the nearest item. When I joined the Navy in 1979, I was able to fuel my anger with large amounts of alcohol since it was available and back then you did need to be twenty-one to consume. I became a Hospital Corpsman specializing in Surgical Technology.
It started me becoming an angry drunk that only cared about myself. I hated anyone who preached God’s word and used to make fun of televangelists like Oral Roberts and Billy Graham. A friend of mine became a professional wrestler and sent me a t-shirt that said, “Ugly, Mean, and Nasty,” which became my motto.
Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior
It all changed in 1992 when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior thanks to an accident 1991. From that point on, Jesus transformed me from an angry drunk to a sober-minded person, a person that only cared about me to care about others, demanding to be served to serving others, from hating anyone who preached God’s Word to be a preacher and being indirectly influenced by Oral Roberts, his teachings, and graduating from the university he founded. God blessed me, and by His grace, I retired from the United States Navy in 1999.
I struggled for years to find and understand my calling, just like most Christians. A few years when by and found that He called me into pastoral ministry. In 2006, God brought me to a gentleman who became my mentor and spiritual father.
I started teaching group Bible study and adult Sunday school. Preparing lessons and enjoying becoming entrenched in God’s Word. Became the Vacation Bible School (VBS) Director for three years at my church. Eventually, I became an Associate Pastor. In 2016, God had a different plan to focus on my education. I stepped down, moved to another part of North Carolina, and started this ministry.
My educational background: Masters of Christian Ministry from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Carolina College of Biblical Studies, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
