Discipleship Series

Here are some questions to ponder: 

  • Did you know that only 5% of churches in the United States have a sound discipleship program?

Several years ago, my wife and I started on this quest to make disciples. God burned it on our hearts to live out the Great Commission and make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20). When we found out the church, we were attending said they made disciples, but it was microwave lessons, hot and fast.

Crockpot Discipleship

Spiritual formation needs to be full of crockpot lessons that are slow, understandable, and thorough. I was once asked if there are any new revelations in this book. I replied no, just old ones that sorely need revisiting—time to throw away the microwave and cook from the crockpot.

So, we are conducting an eight-week series on discipleship on My Thoughts. Our series is based on our book, “Throw Away the Microwave and Cook From the Crockpot, Making Disciples that Stay Fruitful.” Our book covers not only the cost of discipleship but also the purpose and biblical basis of discipleship, spiritual disciplines, evangelism, and discipleship, and many more!

Hopefully after reading our book, God will give you a vision and guide you into an opportunity to create or revamp your church’s current discipleship program. We have done the “heavy lifting,” now pick up your Bibles, read my book, and be inspired in knowing the joy of growing in Christ!
