The Philippian Jailer asked the apostle Paul, “What must I do to be saved” and Paul answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved” (Acts 16:30-31).
We here at VanDeBogart Ministries have a burning desire for everyone to know Jesus personally and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. After Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God, we have been desperate and in dire need of a Savior, to be washed clean of our sins. Before Jesus coming to earth, people have attempted to save themselves and failed because we have all sinned and fell short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). We cannot save ourselves without the blood of Jesus. We need to be reconciled to God.
God is perfect, good, and always right and fair. He cannot and does not tolerate sin. He cannot simply overlook the fact that we chose to disobey Him. The Bible says “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). It is not physical death, but spiritual death. This is a fair payment for our rebellion against God and the punishment that we deserve. Spiritual death was caused by a separation from God, but spiritual life brings us into a fellowship with God and a place in heaven. Jesus paved the way for all of us to be reconciled to God once again and all it takes is for you to accept this wonderful free gift that God has graciously given to us. It is free for us, no works involved, but it cost God His only Son (John 3:16).
Jesus died for you. You can be saved and reconciled to God right now by asking Him for forgiveness from your sins. It doesn’t matter what you have done in the past if you cry out to Jesus for forgiveness, He will not reject you. Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of Living God, came to earth and lived a perfect sinless life. He was crucified even though He was completely innocent. He received the punishment that we deserved. He was the perfect sacrifice, He was put into our place and took on Himself the sentence of death that should have been ours (Romans 5:8).
Romans 10:9-10, “because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believed and is justified, and with the mouth, one confesses and is saved.” The great thing is that you do not have to be in a church to be saved. I was saved at a Naval Hospital recuperating from injuries. Any place is a good place to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
To be saved, repeat this prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I believe that Jesus died for me. I believe that Jesus paid for my sins on the cross. I believe that Jesus rose from the dead. I ask You, Lord, to forgive me of my sins and wash me clean. I put my faith and trust in Jesus as my only hope for living eternally with You in heaven. I ask You Jesus to be my Savior and my Lord. I want to live my life for Christ. I understand that my Salvation is not based on my works but on the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Thank you, my King, for saving me! In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!
If you prayed this right now, CONGRATULATIONS! you are born again, completely forgiven of all sins, reconciled to God the Father, and you are a new creation. WELCOME to the kingdom of God! Your name, today, is now written in the Lamb’s Book of Life!
